The Iron Dragon Roller Coaster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

Having been on XLR-8 that ran at Six Flags Astroworld, Top Gun/Flight Deck/The Bat at Kings Island, Vortex at Canada's Wonderland, The Ninja at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Iron Dragon I have to rank Iron Dragon at the bottom of the list and Ninja at the top. Iron Dragon being just an ok ride in a sea of exceptional rides makes it the odd coaster out at Cedar Point.

The Cedar Downs Carousel at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

Speaking of rides that are exceptional when visiting Cedar Point a ride on the Cedar Downs Racing Carousel is a must.

Built in 1921 at Cleveland's Euclid Beach Park Cedar Downs is one of two racing carousels built by the legendary coaster designers Prior & Church.

What seta Cedar Downs apart from your normal carousel is a few things. First off the speed that this thing goes you have to hold on as this isn't your normal old carouse. The horses go up and down like a normal carousel but they also shift forward and in reverse so you actually race the horses next to you. Prior & Church took the normally sedate carousel and turned it into a thrill ride which makes this a must ride when visiting Cedar Point.

The Valravn roller coaster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

Moving on from the Cedar Downs Racing Carousel let's head on over to Valravn for my final new coaster of this visit to Cedar Point.
