With what must have been a crash effort to fix the issues that kept the VIP Preview from going off without a hitch were mostly addressed as Old Chicago...

...with all of the accouterments of a big Hollywood premiere opened to the public on Saturday June 21, 1975.

Here's a photo of the worlds first enclosed amusement park and shopping center. With nothing else in the area other than local farms Old Chicago could be seen for miles around from Interstate 55. When my wife was growing up in the Chicago suburbs and they'd be coming from the south she knew she was almost home when she saw Old Chicago's dome on the horizon.
