You get a nice view of Old Chicago's layout with this picture.



This map of  Old Chicago's retail space before it opened gives you a nice top down look at the layout.  The bottom is where guests entered the mall.  Each of the different store locations is the square footage of that leasable site.  The black areas at opposite corners were where Old Chicago had its food courts and interestingly the area marked as "Future Development" is where the Old Chicago Beer Garden ended up at.



No matter if you were visiting Old Chicago; to do some shopping, for a bite to eat, or for rides, the grand entrance with the large windows and these planters overhead gave a memorable entrance.

Part of what set Old Chicago apart from your run of the mill shopping center in 1975 was that entertainment was mixed into the shopping experience with entertainers performing through the day in the mall.
