Old Chicago also had costumed characters like the Old Chicago Cub and
the Old Chicago Bear who would go around entertaining shoppers
throughout the day.
What also set shopping at Old Chicago apart from your standard mall was
how the entire shopping area was themed up.
Each part of the mall was themed to being a different street and with a
winding layout you never knew what was around the next bend.
The Wine Haus Tasting Room was one of the locations that was used during
filming of "The Fury".
Part of Old Chicago's $40 million budget was a million that was spent on
adding theming to the shopping center. The lamps were actual gas
lamps that used to line the streets of the real Chicago that had been
refitted for electric lights.
Here you have Lynn's Hallmark Shop with Rags, Bangles, & Bags across the
hallway.
W. Chew & Company Photography did portrait photography. Neck &
Neck, which sold ties, scarves and jewelry were down the way.
