After two rides on The Beast it was time to head on over to Mystic
Timbers to see just what is in the shed?
For those who don't know Mystic Timbers was added to Kings Island in
2017. It was designed by Skyline Design and built by Great
Coasters International.
Mystic Timbers is a twisty out and back into the woods that very much
feels like Kings Island wanted a clone of Prowler at
Worlds of Fun. As for
the shed that I mentioned earlier for those who haven't been on this
coaster is one of the block brakes that was added to give this coaster
enough blocks to run three trains. Surrounding you is theming and
several screens that randomly play one of the three storylines for what
caused the Miami River Lumber Company to mysteriously close up years
ago. You either encounter giant bats, a giant snake, or evil trees
that are coming for you. It's all random which storyline you get.
Diamondback is one of my favorite coasters at Kings Island so I was
ready for a few laps on it.
If you are of the camp that Orion is a hyper coaster and not a giga then
this is Kings Island's original hyper.
