The Corksxrew Rollercoaster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

Power Tower is certainly a "weenie" as Walt Disney would have called it. A "weenie" is something to entice you deeper into a park such as Sleeping Beauty's Castel in Disneyland.

Of course Cedar Point's Corkscrew that looped over the midway was the parks big "weenie" when it opened in 1976.

Cedar Point's Corkscrew was designed by Arrow Dynamics and the worlds first coaster with three inversions.

While it certainly shows its age I hope Corkscrew is kept up and running forever as I love how it loops over the midway. While doing a little research on Corkscrew the rides Wikipedia page says that it has the record for being the "first roller coaster to go over a midway". I'm not sure who added that little tidbit to the Wikipedia entry but they are most certainly wrong as the Chicago Loop that opened at the Old Chicago Shopping Center & Amusement Park in 1975 corkscrewed over that parks midway.

Even though Cedar Point's Corkscrew does not hold that record I do love getting to walk under it as the coaster corkscrews overhead.
