The Top Thrill Dragster Rollercoaster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio

Across the midway from Corkscrew sat Top Thrill Dragster.

The worst kept secret in the coaster world was that Top Thrill Dragster was being modified by Zamperla to have a launch powered by linear synchronous motors replacing the rides old hydraulic launch.

The other part of the secret was that there would be a tower added to the ride over by Iron Dragon to act as a reverse spike so the new launch can send the train forward, back, and forward as it speeds up a little bit with each launch until the coaster can crest the 420 foot tall tower.

A week after my visit Top Thrill 2 was announced and all of the rumors came true and the reverse spike started to grow from these footers.
