The Switchback Roller Coaster at ZDT's Amusement Park, Seguin, Texas

On shuttle coasters you need that vertical stall moment where the rides velocity stalls out and gravity pulls you back down giving the ride enough momentum to make the return journey.

My favorite part of Switchback because you get a moment to just hang there for a split second where gravity seems to be in limbo.

With the train slowing as it pulls against gravity time seems to slow down as well here.

You feel the coaster slow with the end of the track in front of you and everything goes all "Matrix time" as you hang there.

As I have been throwing out idioms out all over the place in this trip report I might as well throw in that what goes up must come down.
