Cedar Fair had such massive success with the legendary Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point that they wanted to replicate that magic for more of their parks.  With Arrow Dynamics who designed Magnum circling the drain in the late 1990's they turned to the next best thing to build three hyper coasters for Worlds of Fun, Dorney Park, and Valleyfair.

The next best thing was quite literally the son of Arrow Dynamics.  Morgan Manufacturing was started by Dana Morgan, who was the son of Arrow's founder Ed Morgan.

Morgan really didn't try to push the bounds like other coaster manufacturers of the day by doing something completely different like inverting track or going crazy with custom loops.  Instead Morgan took Arrow's most basic coaster; the mine train, that over time evolved into the hyper-coaster and stuck to selling those.

Basically take a mine train, go big, add airtime and repeat is what they did.

While I do love it when parks and manufacturers let their creative juices flow with new ideas the pureness of height, speed, and airtime just works.  It's a shame that more parks haven't taken Morgan (now Chance Morgan) up on adding more of these insanely fun rides to their parks.
