Everything from the zebra striped doughnuts to the cookies with
the Zambezi Zinger logo on them were tricked out for the grand occasion.
At long last it was time to bring the Zambezi Zinger to life.
The first to ride Zambezi Zinger were those who donated $10 for a chance
to ride to Kansas City's The Big Slick; a local charity that raises
funds for Children's Mercy Hospital. The Zambezi Zinger first
rider raffle raised $20,000 and of course when giving to a charity the
only way to go is with a big check.
After the check presentation it was time to cut the ribbon and Vice
President and Park General Manager Rick Fiedler along with
representatives of The Big Slick and Children's Memorial Hospital were
on hand to make the cut.
With a few snips of the scissors and an explosion of streamers into the
Serengeti sky the Zambezi Zinger was officially open for business.
