Winterfest at Worlds of Fun, Kansas City, Missouri

One of the greatest things that has happened to the amusement park industry in the last few years is the addition of Christmas themed events to parks across the continent.

There are so many reasons why events like WinterFest are so great. First off there is something magical with seeing a park all decked and lit up for the season.

It is a great way to get together with those that you love and get in the holiday mood. It makes getting a season pass more valuable as the park is open two months longer. Finally to me the biggest reason holiday events at parks is the best idea in ages (since they added Halloween events) is that it makes it so a Midwesterner like myself doesn't have to travel to Florida to ride coasters in December!

With Bond's fiancée Charlotte in town for the week of Christmas and Bond having to work my future daughter-in-law and I hopped in the good old "family truckster" and headed to Kansas City for an evening at Worlds of Fun.

This is the second year that Worlds of Fun has had Winterfest and it was my first visit so I was excited to see how Worlds of Fun did a Christmas event. It was nice having a full manger of animals for everyone to pet. The goats were more excited than the little kids as they jockeyed for treats from everyone.
