I do like the compass that centers Worlds of Fun's new entrance plaza.
As
you can see a few trees would have been nice.
A favorite ride of ours is World of Fun's Viking Voyager.
One thing we noticed is that there was quite a bit of new signage all
around the park including this cute one in the queue for Viking Voyager.
The Viking Voyager is a classic Arrow Dynamics built log flume that
really is the one of those classic rides that I hope Worlds of Fun keeps
running forever.
Speaking of classic rides and hopes that they stay I wouldn't hold my
breath on the Finnish Fling being part of Worlds of Fun next year.
This type of a ride is called a "Rotor" and it is simply a rotating drum
that spins so fast that riders are stuck to the wall while the floor
drops out from beneath them. After a rider lost a foot getting it
stuck in the gap between the floor and wall at Six Flags Great America
these started to disappear from theme parks around the world. The
Finnish Fling is one of the last and the rumor mill is that after 44
years of service this original Worlds of Fun ride is going to retire to
the big theme park in the sky.
