Oh before we venture off into Tomorrowland there are a few things
that need to be covered about the "old" Fantasyland.
First order of business was that I needed to give The Many Adventures of
Winnie The Pooh" the "Fist". You see one of my favorite rides of all
time used to sit here. That ride was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It
was stupid, hilarious and insane fun. Since most kids nowadays have
no clue about Mr. Toad or "The Wind In The Willows" story and movie that
he comes from AND the corporate accountants decided that they could sell
more Winnie the Pooh merchandise if The Magic Kingdom had a Pooh ride so
in 1998 the Wild Ride came to an end.
Curses Pooh...long live Mr. Toad!
Now I had to go and ride "It's a Small World". Yes I know the song
earworms in a nanosecond and stays there until it's replaced by "Mickey"
by Toni Basil or "MmmmmBop" by Hanson but it's a cute ride and something
I remember fondly from my childhood.
Unfortunately there was no way in hell that Bond would ride it so my Mom
and I hopped on a boat and took a ride through what some have described
as "audio torture".
"It's a small world after all...it's a small world after all". Ha
I've passed the earworm off to you...suffer!
The song may be annoying but the visuals on It's A Small World are so psychedelically
fun. This ride screams the 1960's which by the way is when it was
made for the 1964 Worlds Fair's UNICEF pavillion.
