Bright and ea
rly on the morning of Thursday September 12th
instead of pulling into the office I pulled into the staff parking
lot at Six Flags St. Louis to finally get to take the new for 2024
The Joker: Carnival of Chaos ride for a spin.

September is a little late to open a new for 2024 ride but with
other parks wanting their copy of this ride installed first, weeks
worth of weather problems that delayed construction, and finally a
few dozen hurdles to get approval by the local government to open,
The Joker: Carnival of Chaos you could say was was fashionably
late for the 2024 season.

The Joker's opening was so late that it was going to be opening up
with Six Flags St. Louis' annual Fright Fest event which made for
some really happy trolls, barnyard horrors, evil clowns, and other
creatures of the haunt very happy as they got to join in with the
opening festivities.

With the ride being themed to The Joker it is fitting that the ride
experience will begin with a trip through a funhouse. There
will be just enough room for one ride cycle worth of riders to work
their way through The Joker's funhouse before proceeding onto the
ride. With a lot of custom props, sets, and gags needed to
make the ride experience as special as possible Six Flags St. Louis
has pushed off the addition of the funhouse part of The Joker until
late spring 2025. Building a Joker themed funhouse isn't that
easy as the layers of approval that needs to go through DC Comics
and their mountains of lawyers is no easy task. We'll have to
wait on this one but from what I'm hearing it will be worth the
wait..

The Joker: Carnival of Chaos is a "Giant Discovery" model
pendulum ride designed and built by ride designer Zamperla.
