On The Joker: Carnival of Chaos forty riders sit on a
circular platform that slowly rotates throughout the ride giving you
a full 360 degree view of the park and surroundings.
While getting to see the sights all around you is great The Joker's
real party pleaser is the rides pendulum motion.
Getting a little ahead of myself as first after you are seated and
locked in the platform beneath the ride moves out and away giving
the ride clearance to start its ride cycle.
Time to geek out about a little engineering here. Huss Rides
makes a similar ride such as Max Air at
Cedar Point or Delirium
at Kings Island.
For those rides the floor lowers out from beneath the ride vehicle
in a really over engineered way. Zamperla's design; like this
one, is worlds simpler and probably significantly easier to maintain
over a giant platform that has to raise and lower. Engineers
there is nothing wrong with keeping designs simple. Ok, off of
my soap box and back to The Joker: Carnival of Chaos.
With riders secure and the loading platform out of the way it is
time to ride.
As the arm is pulled into the sky you slowly start to rotate.
