That is such a bad joke I had to post it here.
The word is that the Tidal Wave which had reached the end of its
life was removed to be replaced by a Rocky Mountain Construction
Raptor coaster. My guess is with the chain not making anywhere
near as much as they did pre-Covid we are going to have to wait
three maybe four years for a coaster or large ride to be added.
Hopefully next year we can get past this all and the amusement park
industry has their best year ever.
We headed to ride American Thunder right before the end of the day
and this is as close as we got. Lightning was detected within
five miles of the park and all of the rides shut down. So what
was there to do...
...go and get some ice cream.
God you have no idea how much this day meant to me. It was a
little slice of normalcy returning to a world of uncertainty.
It was fun when I needed it. My desperate need for a coaster
fix was filled (for now) and I got to have a wonderful day out with
my boy.
This year is a really frightening one for the amusement park
industry. Throughout the lockdown and closure I kept my Six
Flags Membership going because I could afford it and because I want
to make sure they are there for me in the future as they are
something that I have needed to get through my troubled past.
Amusement parks of all shapes and sizes add so much to our lives so
I want to encourage all of you to support your local amusement park
through this trying year in any way you can.
To Six Flags and the staff of Six Flags St. Louis thank you for all
of your efforts to keep everyone safe while allowing us all to have
a little but of fun. I look forward to heading back for more.
