With a name like Spinsanity one could logically deduce that
there is some sort of spinning motion as a part of the ride
experience.
If you thought so you would be correct. Spinsanity's circular
platform with forty passengers will rotate fourteen times a minute
in addition to the rocking back and forth movement.
The seats on Spinsanity may look a little different to most of you.
That is because they are the same type of seats that Zamperla use on
their motorbike coasters. Just imagine you are sitting on a
motorcycle. You face outwards and lean against the upright
while a restraint goes up against your back securing you on the
ride.
Spinsanity is going to be a great addition to Six Flags St. Louis
and I am excited to get a new ride instead of a replacement for an
aging ride. Due to my body's aversion to spinning I might not
be able to handle Spinsanity but I am going to give it a try.
There has been no word on when Spinsanity is going to open but by
the looks of it all that remains is landscaping and the construction
of a queue so I would expect it to open probably in May closer to
the weeklong operating season.
The weather was so nice in cooperating with us but about dinner time
our luck ran out and the storms that were going north and south of
the park finally hit dumping a lot of rain and sending temperatures
plummeting. I can stand being cold. I can stand being
wet. When the two are combined and I am cold and wet is when
it hinders all of the fun.
As a result we decided to call it a day and head back home. It
was great to be back in our home park for another season. It
was great to ride some rides. It was great to see what's
coming. The best thing was just getting out and having a lot
of laughs and amazing times with our friends. That is what
makes this hobby such a big part of my life.
