Fright Fest 2014 at Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka, Missouri

Not all of the decorations and attractions at Fright Fest were of the terrifying nature.

Macabre Mansion took over  the spot of what normally is Miss Kitty's Saloon.

The story is simple at Macabre Mansion.  The mansions servants placed a curse on the site that turned the inside of it into a "living cartoon".

Stepping inside you are actually placed in a living cartoon as Macabre Mansion recycles many props from Scooby Doo Ghostblasters.

Macabre Mansion was a really cute use of space and old props.  What they really do in there is it is a place where kids can go and have a spooky (but not scary) story read to them by some not so scary characters.

Bond and I ended up catching the final story of the night.  While we were definitely not the target age for this attraction both of us really enjoyed it.  Attractions like this don't cost much, they are not big thrills but it is the little stuff that makes an event like Fright Fest special and we were really happy to see Six Flags St. Louis get that.

Thankfully Sky Screamer was still facing forward for Fright Fest this year.  In the past they have turned the cars around so you faced backwards and that kept me away from riding it as it sounds a bit nauseating.  I'm happy just to sit down for a couple of minutes facing forward on it as it takes you up 236 feet for a relaxing spin above  the park.
