Six Flags St. Louis
Eureka, Missouri
2008 Opening Weekend
April 5 & 6, 2008
Page Sixteen
With Greg, Andy and I locked in we ended up getting a heck of a big
spin. I was a little queasy when we hit the brake run but it was a
fun ride and that sickness quickly went away.
I do really like Scooby Doo Ghostblasters as it's really a fantastic dark
ride.
The Time Tunnel and later Castaway Kids Comic Book Adventure boats were
retrofitted with ghost blasters so you can round up a few ghosts.
Unfortunately my gun was malfunctioning and I got a way low score.
Finishing everything up it's nice walking up the queue and finding the Screaming
Eagle's station deserted at the end of the night.
We did have a memorable double ride in the back seat on Saturday night.
A couple of kids in the car ahead of us stood up on the lift hill.
I of course yelled at the morons and one of them sat down while the second
one stood up through most of the ride. Thankfully that idiot didn't
fall out but when we got back in the station everyone in the back of the
train was allowed one more ride since there was no one in line for our seats.
We motioned over to us one of the ride ops and told her what happened.
Instead of kicking them out because that would have been not much of a punishment
since the park had already closed when she checked their lap bars she put
her full force down into the bars. Needless to say they didn't stand
up that ride and had a hard time getting out as there was no room to push
down and pull up.
It was a fantastic opening weekend to the 2008 season. Thanks to Greg,
Lisa, Rohan and Talia for having us over and thanks to Andy for coming over
to play for the weekend. I know we're going to be back several times
this year especially after June 20 when Evel Knievel opens up.
