Six Flags St. Louis' train ride during Fright Fest is normally a blast.
In years past we've had fun heckling the T'NT Gang as they rob the train
but this year there was a little toxic waste theme that was so 1980's.
The train went out by the Boss and stopped in the toxic waste dump.
We then sat there for ten minutes waiting for something to happen. A
truck drove by and we thought that was part of the show but was full of
maintenance workers instead.
After staring at the eight or so "toxic waste" drums for about
ten minutes the train finally started up again and took us behind the River
King Mine Train where the old west town is. We then sat there for
about five minutes when some sort of a toxic monster started scaring people
by banging on the side of the train. Ok, that was cool. Then
he crossed onto the side by the town and fought a single police officer
before ending up in the exploding building. Even Bond thought it was
lame.
We spent time going back and forth between the rides that Bond liked but
at about eleven-thirty we headed on over to the Grand Carousel to finish
out the night.
Technically it was the "Haunted Carousel" as listed on the Fright
Fest attractions because of the faux spider webs that were draped over the
fence that surrounded the ride.
