As you're in line to take The Judge for a spin there's this nice plaque
dedicated to the coasters designer Bill Cobb. This wasn't going to
be the only Bill Cobb coaster of our trip as the next day the plan was to
fit the Arkansas Twister at Magic Springs on our way home.
Judge Roy Scream opened up in 1980 and was actually kind of a rushed job.
You see Six Flags Over Texas' Big Bend coaster had seen it's last day due
to maintenance issues and needed to be taken down so Six Flags called on
Bill Cobb to quickly design a coaster to replace it and the Judge was the
result.
In addition to replacing the Big Bend the Judge uses salvaged parts from
Six Flags Astroworld's legendary Texas Cyclone for the white train.
You see at the time the Cyclone was going from three bench seats to two
bench seats and since they cut the cars down the spare parts were used to
make this train. So while the legendary Texas Cyclone is gone people
are still enjoying part of it here at Six Flags Over Texas.
