Just a warning before you start to read this trip report. This is
the longest trip report that I have ever put together. The
following forty-three
pages of text and photos are understandable as Six Flags Magic Mountain
has eighteen coasters; the most of any park in the world to take photos
of. Then throw into the mix that I was there for the American
Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 42 where we had behind the scenes tours
to take photos of and when you throw in early morning and after the park
closed exclusive ride time I was at the park for two of the three days
from 7:30 am until 11 pm. When it was all said and done I think I
left Six Flags Magic Mountain with some two thousand photos and that was
after I had edited out the really blurry or bad ones. Pairing all
of those great shots of coasters and friends down into the 215 was in
itself quite the effort.
It might take you a little while to read through this but do it as I am
really excited to share with you the completely amazing time I had with
several hundred fellow members of my coaster family at the American
Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Con 42 at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Six Flags Magic Mountain was park number 5 out of 10 for us on this
great California quest and the first in Southern California. We
arrived in the afternoon after having woken up a stones throw away from
William Randolph Hearst's "Castle" and having spent some time exploring
the beach and tidal pools before starting our quest for La Montaña Mágica.
Magic Mountain first admitted guests to the troll and magician infested
park in 1971. Unfortunately for the trolls named Bleep, Bloop and
King Troll and the Magician Six Flags purchased the park in 1979 and
banished then from the hilly 262 acre park.
Thankfully Six Flags didn't treat us like the trolls.
We were greeted with open arms....
