You gat a great view of the back half of the park from Ninja's
exit. Intertwined with Ninja on the hillside is the Jet Stream
hydro flume and off in the distance you can see a sliver of Apocalypse
and the new for 2019 (or is it 2020) West Coast Racers that is under
construction. Beyond all of that outside of the park is an obscenely
massive land development that will be full of thousands of houses that
all are going to hear the horrible sound of Superman every five minutes
twelve hours a day for three hundred and sixty five days of the year.
While I was having a great time at the park there is no way I'd move
that close.
The Jet Stream was one of two flume rides that opened with Magic
Mountain back in 1971.
Log Jammer; which was a traditional log flume was the other flume ride
that Arrow Dynamics built for the park. It sat on the hillside
where Full Throttle now sits.
The difference between a log flume and a hydro flume is instead of
sitting in a log a hydro flume is shaped like a boat. Unlike a log
flume instead of
splashing down after a drop the boat is designed to skip over the top of
the water.
The hillside location for Ninja is perfect and it is the same
Jet Stream. The lift takes your boat up the hill
where you meander around at the top of the hillside with a wonderful surprise drop.
Beyond that Jet Stream
twists and turns through the overgrown hillside before finally sending you down a fifty-seven foot drop
to splash into the pool below.
