The new entrance to Six Flags Great America looks a whole lot better than last
year. Looking at this last year when it was under construction I
wasn't too excited with what I saw. This year though seeing the
finished product I get it. The cupolas are made to match the look of Six Flags
Great America's centerpiece, the
Columbia Carousel. This is certainly adds a little grandeur to an
entrance plaza that has always been not that grand.

There were three reasons that got me to Six Flags Great America on a
weekday in June.
The first reason is that I needed a Whizzer fix.

The Whizzer, with its nostalgic feel, spiraling lift, long drop, heavily
banked speed turns, the ground hugging turn, and probably the most
comfortable coaster trains in existence makes The Whizzer a coaster that I need to ride at least
once a year. It is the first coaster that I really loved and it still
is the best coaster in the park.

The second reason for this visit was because my three favorite Canadians;
Paul, Adrianna, and Luke,
were at Six Flags Great America attending the
American Coaster
Enthusiasts Coaster Con.

A benefit of crashing the Con was I was able to see quite a few friends
including Beth, Daniel, and Kevin Remhof. The park was pretty empty and
with a large percentage of those at the park ACE members there were
friends everywhere.
