The new for 2025 Wrath of Rakshasa coaster at Six Flags Great America, Gurnee, Illinois

My third reason for visiting Six Flags Great America was to take the new Wrath of Rakshasa coaster for a ride.

If you don't happen to be well versed in Hindu mythology, a Rakshasa, is a demon.

With the addition of this ride the County Fair section of Six Flags Great America now has two demon themed rides. There is the old classic Arrow Dynamics designed Demon. Then this coaster is pretty much "Wrath of the Demon". Who'd a thought that a county fair themed area would have such evil in it.

When Wrath of Rakshasa was ann0unced I was curious how they were going to thematically blend this ride into County Fair. A Hindu demon and an all American as apple pie county fair seem to be an odd pairing. Having the Rakshasa emerging from a sideshow attraction where breaks free from an ancient imprisonment in a statue to weak havoc of fairgoers is a perfect way to theme this coaster.

As you can see Wrath of Rakshasa certainly changed the skyline of the park.
