Actually the plan was that 2010 was going to be it's last year at
the park as Chang, the stand up coaster that Six Flags removed from Kentucky
Kingdom before closing that park was going to come to Chicago. Actually
it did come to Chicago and parts were stored there but at the last minute
corporate changed their minds and sent it to New Jersey instead.
So Iron Wolf got a stay of execution.
This year the rumors started up again that it was to move to Six Flags America,
just outside of Washington D.C. Six Flags America submitted plans
for a stand up coaster to the local zoning commission while Six Flags Great
America just kept quiet. Then while Bond and I were at the park the
rumors were confirmed and early September was set as the date for Iron Wolf's
final rides at Six Flags Great America
So during our visit Bond and I hopped on Iron Wolf for a couple of more
concussions before it left.
Most B&M designed coasters are smooth and something you can easily ride
again and again but Iron Wolf slams your head and neck back and forth repeatedly
and by the time you're in the station you are not ready for another go on
it.
