Slowing the ride down did little to smoothen the ride out.
Modifications, tweaks and re-profiles were all tried to no avail.
Eventually Six Flags came to the conclusion that there was little
they could do with the ride besides start over from scratch.
That is where Rocky Mountain Coasters and designer Alan Shilke came
into the picture. After successfully turning another troubled
wooden coaster; namely The Texas
Giant at Six Flags Over Texas, into a smooth crowd pleaser it was pretty obvious that The Rattler
was on the short list of coasters to be reborn in steel.
That is all we are going to say about the Iron Rattler for now.
Day one of our two day visit was about taking in everything that Six
Flags Fiesta Texas has to offer. A large part of day two had
to do with The Iron Rattler including a behind the scenes tour of
the ride so we will come back to it a little later in the trip
report. Now on to the rest of what Six Flags Fiesta Texas has to odder.
