Taking a break from the afternoon Texas heat and taking
advantage of front row seating for Fiesta Fest attendees Bond and I
headed to check out Six Flags Fiesta Texas' Vinyl Countdown show.
Fiesta Texas like it's Gaylord Entertainment owned sibling Opryland
U.S.A. was built to have shows as a central focus of the park.
Transitioning to a Six Flags park changed none of that and having
live music and some of the best shows in the industry has been a
constant through the years at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
Vinyl Countdown is a musical journey from the 1980's to today with
over fifty songs done by fourteen performers.
Backing the singers up was a really kick ass band. I tend to
avoid a lot of shows because most of them that I run into have
canned music, canned singers or both. If I want to see a
performance I don't want Memorex and Vinyl Countdown was all live.
All of the artists in Vinyl Countdown were amazing and giving great
covers of the original artists and then there was this guy. He
hit Biz Markie's "Just A friend" perfectly. Bond and I love
this insanely fun song and we just about lost it at the first "Oh
baby YOOOOOOOO Got what I NEEEDDDDDDD".
Every performer in Vinyl Countdown got their chance to own the stage
including the band. They all rocked and as a sign of how good
the show is both of us would gladly go back.
