One Final Visit
Page Seventeen
With the change to a floorless coaster Apocalypse became Firebird and I
was really looking forward to giving it one final ride.
As you can see with each photo of Firebird without riders it was having
issues. All day long they would test it, get a couple of
trainloads of riders on it, and then it would break down again.
Each time it opened we reserved a ride on our flash passes and when we
got to it there'd be another breakdown. We kept trying to score a ride
but it was not to be.
On my last visit I was impressed with the Capital Railway. Yes, it
is just a train ride but it takes you way out to the back of the park
where Six Flags America's picnic grove is.
With the coasters going down due to storms moving into the area we tried
to get one more ride before saying goodbye but mother nature decided to
end our day at Six Flags America a little sooner.
So that's it. No more Six Flags America for us. Yes it
wasn't a top tier park but it deserved to go out better than it did.
