Six Flags America's history can be traced back to the early 1970's when
it opened as a drive through animal preserve called "The Largo
Preserve". It has changed hands, started adding rides and a water
park and in the late 1980's grew into a theme park called "Wild World
and "Adventure World" before being merges into the Six Flags chain when
Premiere Parks purchased Six Flags. It has grown over the years
with a lineup that includes the Wild One, a John Miller and Herbert
Schmeck design that dates back to 1917 (it was moved from Paragon Park),
Roar and the stellar Superman The Ride of Steel.
