Firebird is a coaster that I was really looking forward to.  Along with Ragin Cajun this was a hand me down coaster from Six Flags Great America.

When it premiered at Great America back in 1990 it was Bolliger & Mabillard's first coaster since branching out from Intamin.  It was a stand up coaster.

The last time I visited it was still a stand up coaster then known as Apocalypse.

In 2020 Six Flags America transformed it from a stand up to a sit down floorless coaster.

The change made sense as even going back to when began its life as Iron Wolf there was a bit of roughness and head banging.  Moving from a stand up to having riders sit lower probably helped make it a soother ride as well as breathe new life to an already aging coaster.
