Back to theming, details this mining headframe that rises a hundred and twenty feet over Silver Dollar City shows the lengths that the designers and management go through for a ride.



Headframes are used in mining to pull up material from deep inside the mine as well as an anchor for water removal from the mine.  This headframe isn't just theming as it comes from a real mine.



For decades this mine headframe was the heart and soul of a actual mine in Rolla, Missouri.  Wanting authenticity instead of recreating one Silver Dollar City just found one, purchased it, had it disassembled, moved across the state, and finally erected here.



Thought and effort like that is what makes Silver Dollar City absolutely one of the handful of world class theme parks in North America.  Their attitude is if they are going to put in a mine ride then they better make it feel as real as possible without having guests pick up some picks and shovels before heading into the mine.



Passing under the headframe guests will find in 2027 the station for Miner's Mountain Express.
