After Brian was done thrilling everyone with the news for 2023 it was
great to hear from Brad Thomas from Silver Dollar City about what's
going on here. They are adding employee housing, they are
rebuilding the Heartland Furnishings store that burned down last year
and a few other things. One of the other things that has been the
subject of much speculation is the large building that has been erected
behind Firemen's Landing. According to Brad that is going to be
the worlds largest Dollar General store. I'm not sure as I heard
it was going to be an Amazon distribution center.
One of the things that Brad mentioned was that Silver Dollar City just
finished the purchase of a massive tract of land that goes all the way
down to Table Rock Lake and all the way over to Dana'a BBQ in Branson
West. To give you a little look at the property it is pretty much
everything in this picture. My guess is there's going to be room
to build a resort like Hirschend Family Entertainment, the owners of
Silver Dollar City, has done at Dollywood. My hopes are that with
the expansion Silver Dollar City is able to use the terrain to build a
massive coaster heading down the hill as well.
After the presentations everyone was free to roam the park, take in the
sights, shows, and ride what was open on this cold Saturday. As I
said earlier Silver Dollar City really spoils us for this event with
admission for two days, a meal voucher for any restaurant in the park
and a Trailblazer Pass so we wouldn't have to wait in line on Saturday
or on Sunday when it was warm enough for the coasters to run.
Heading towards Firemen's Landing it is hard to miss the large addition
that has been built.
There have been many rumors swirling around about what this is for.
