These ads are from the 1975 Old Chicago News Holiday Edition and they
give a taste of what Old Chicago had for those with an appetite.
This may be Old Chicago but it is still Chicago so hot dogs and gyros
are a must.
A cookie store is pretty much standard for any mall.
Old Chicago had multiple nut shops to choose from as you had Nuts' N
Stuff, Kustra's Nuttery and the Peanut Grinder. This is a bit of
an example of one of the things that didn't bring shoppers coming back
to Old Chicago as there were often multiple stores, or in this case
restaurants that offered the exact same thing. Shoppers want
variety and not repetition.
You have to love a restaurant that is the "Home of the Super Bomber".
This is a tough page to write when hungry as I could use a sub right
now.
