This may not be the most exciting press release but it goes into who will be managing Old Chicago.  Click on the image to read the entire press release.



Once open Old Chicago started getting press including articles like this from the August 17th, 1975 edition of the Chicago Tribune that goes on to describe an experience on the Chicago Loop.  A great quote on the coaster is that "It has taken a minute and ten seconds, at a cost, in terms of psychic wear, of five years or so".  That quote is amusing as looking back as in comparison to the thrill rides of 2023 the Chicago Loop would be considered pretty tame.



It wasn't just the local press excited about Old Chicago as this photo ran in the St. Cloud Times.



One of the Chicago Tribune's staff wasn't that impressed with Old Chicago and while I was unable to locate their unflattering review I did stumble on this rebuttal from the President of the Old Chicago General Store and another individual.



That's the end of how Old Chicago went from a dream to reality.  Next we'll dig deeper into all of the stores that made up the Old Chicago Shopping Center.
