While doing a deep dive through years worth of newspapers for info on
Old Chicago I ran into a few ads for the stores of Old Chicago.
Old Chicago's Super T's T-Shirt Shop was hiring. Just give them a
call to apply.
While B. Dalton Bookseller's eventually grew to a massive size they were
kind of new when one opened in Old Chicago.
Old Chicago's Toy House had everything a kid would need for Christmas in
the 1970's. You could get a Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle; you know the
kind that you wound up and then the cycle shot out across the room.
Those go for hundreds today but you could have gotten one brand new back
then for just $11.97.
Fayva was a chain of shoe stores that used to be pretty big. The
map of where they were in Old Chicago was pretty handy if you were
paying a visit to just get a pair of shoes.
Lord & Hunt Jewelers is a family owned jeweler who as of 2023 are still
open in the Chicago area.
