It would have been nice if Old Chicago had gone out with a bang quite literally by being immploded.



The sight of  the massive structure that made Old Chicago coming crumbling to the ground in a grand spectacle would have been a fitting end to a place that started with such a bang and made such an impact.



Instead there was no fanfare just a little more taken away day after day....



...until the landmark of a dome that once towered over the area was just gone.



It was just another pile of metal that needed to be trucked away to the scrap yard..
