Despite being published in September 24, 1975 edition of Florida Today
this is another photo of the Chicago Loop half painted and running
before Old Chicago opened its doors.
With Old Chicago piece by piece coming together and completion around
the corner this press release highlighting those who were instrumental
in the project was sent out. Glenn Long managed the tilt-up
construction of Old Chicago. Harry J. Brindle, one of Robert's
sons, was responsible for the work that went into the Fairgrounds.
Branko Lepan, as mentioned earlier, was the architect responsible for
the design of Old Chicago's unique look outside as well as the interior
themed design.
Larry Brankov was notable as the assistant superintendent. To
round the press release out everything was pointing towards the next
step which would take Old Chicago even bigger with the Village '76
development. We will get into that eventually but first the doors
of Old Chicago needed to open to the public.
