When Bond and I stopped by Nickelodeon Universe the night before when we
got into town I had such an
Old Chicago flashback. Old Chicago was the prototype indoor mall/amusement
park. The thing is they didn't do it right. The mall had no
anchor stores to draw people to it. The park was basically a concrete
box that was pretty unappealing to look at and they didn't have skylights
like this so you could enjoy the sun on your face as you ride a coaster
even with the temperature in the single digits outside.
The next stop for us and coaster #53 for Bond was the Pepsi Orange Streak.
I have no idea why it's called the "Orange Streak" and what Pepsi
has to do with it other than sponsoring it.
Even with the weird name it's still a really fun coaster. It's actually
a massively long ride that takes you all over and above Nickelodeon Universe.
