Negative-G - Lost Island Theme Park

Lost Island Theme Park in Waterloo, Iowa is something that you just don't see too often, a brand new theme park.

Lost Island is a wonderful mix of a tropical oasis, rides, games like Pokemon Go, interactive storytelling and coasters all packaged in a theme park.

After years of planning and construction 2022 was Lost Island's first year of operation. Unfortunately due to the world wide pandemic and the resulting supply chain challenges they were not able to open the parks headline coaster Matugani. On top of that during construction there was a fire that destroyed the station for Lost Island's Uta Falls flume. With two of the parks headline attractions sidelined 2023 really was the first opportunity to experience all of Lost Island. That is why I was really excited to take the drive to Iowa for a day of fun.

My visit was with the North Central Region of the American Coaster Enthusiasts who were holding an event called "ACE Gets Lost". As with most events that ACE puts on we were to be given a behind the scenes tour of Volkanu: The Quest for the Golden Idol, exclusive ride time on Matugani, and more.

Keep your eyes peeled for one of the parks mischievous Tamariki spirits and let's spend a day at the tropical paradise of Lost Island.
