Kiddytown; like many of it's contemporaries didn't last but the Little
Dipper as it was known then survived and was moved to the nearby Hillcrest
Park. Hillcrest was a private park that had a few rides and rented
out to companies for picnics and gatherings. Over the years the land
around became developed and the property values rose and eventually the
land Hillcrest sat on became more valuable than the park so the owners sold
it and auctioned off all the rides.
Thankfully for us Little Amerricka stepped in and have this coaster it's
third lease on life. It was purchased for $9,000 in 2003 and then
after a few years of careful reconstruction it opened in 2007.
When it reopened the Little Dipper was rechristened the Meteor as the park
already had a Little Dipper coaster.
The Meteor is a really great centerpiece for this family friendly park.
