While it was one long train ride it was a really relaxing and fun
ride out into the country.
Here's one more photo of the Whisky River Railroad before we get back into
the park. This was an epic ride and if you love a good ride through
the countryside then a visit to Little Amerricka and a ride on The Whisky
River Railway should be on your itinerary.
The Meteor is the newest addition to Little Amerricka. It opened in
2007 but has quite a history before that.
The Meteor began it's life as a kit coaster from the Philadelphia Toboggan
Company at the long defunct Kiddytown amusement park that was once in Norridge
Illinois. It was built in 1953. At that time the baby boomers
were getting old enough to ride so small parks geared to them sprung up
all around the country. So PTC started offering kits for sale with
everything needed for a coaster including wood, rails, lift, train and instructions
on how to build it and several rides like this one and the Little Dipper
at Six Flags Great America.
