If you are really going to turn a park around adding what is undeniably
one of the worlds greatest coasters will sure do the trick.
Boulder Dash is the worlds greatest terrain coaster partially because of
the amazing terrain that it is built on. The side of Compounce Mountain
is covered in boulders the size of a fridge to boulders the size of a house.
Throw into that mix a forest and then build a coaster through it at a minimum
of height over the terrain and keep as many trees as you can and you have
a recipe for the perfect terrain coaster.
Boulder Dash's lift takes you up the mountain just a few feet above of the
boulders and a few feet above and below them is where you stay for most
of the ride's 4,725 feet of track.
Boulder Dash is an out and back that goes along the slope of the mountain.
You can see the first drop and a little bit of the track but for the most
part Boulder Dash is up there twisting, turning and diving under boulders
out of sight during its out run.
