The familiar humming of the spiral lift brought a smile to my face
as we worked our way around and around as the electric motors worked us
up to the forty-five foot crest of the Jet Star 2. I am a huge fan
of the spiral lift because it gives you the chance to look around and
really enjoy a calm and relaxing view of the surroundings before...
...all hell breaks loose as Jet Star 2 gets you in its grasp.
By the way the big change to the Jet Star 2 over its predecessor besides
the spiral lift and electric motors is the added capacity of three bench
cars instead of two. There may be three seats and Lagoon has a
strict "no single riders" policy on the Jet Star 2 but as you can
see here if you can squeeze more than two people into each seat you are
good to go.
Jet Star 2's first drop is fun but this coaster really isn't about
drops.
Jet Star 2 is about helices and turns taken at speed.
Compared to modern coasters that go hundreds of feet in the air and go
over a hundred miles an hour the Jet Star 2 might not have that much
speed but when you are whizzing inches from the ground whipping you
around insanely tight turns it can feel like this coaster is approaching
triple digits.
