Across from the Pony Express is the newest addition at Knott's Berry Farm: The Calico River Rapids.

Technically the Calico River Rapids is not new. It used to be Bigfoot Rapids but after thirty-two years of operation it needed a complete overhaul.

While Knott's had the ride reworked they also changed the story adding new theming, animatronics to give you an adventure through some of the unexplored territory outside of Calico.

On the way you will have close calls with wildlife like this bear.

The theming for Calico River Rapids is wonderful and there is a nice nod to the rides past as you will have a close encounter with Bigfoot as you float down the rapids.
