It has been forever since I spent a normal day at Kings Island.
This trip was to be a big loop starting out at
Indiana Beach,
heading to Cedar
Point for a couple of days before finishing it all up at Kings
Island.
Unfortunately this wouldn't be the full day at Kings Island as I had
planned. The
Zambezi Zinger at Worlds of Fun's opening was delayed and when I
arrived in Sandusky earlier this week I got the email that it was going
to finally open that Friday and my presence was requested. Not
able to say no to attending the media day for a brand new coaster the
plans for my day at Kings Island changed.
Instead of spending all of Thursday June 15th at Kings Island before
heading home as was originally planned it all shifted to riding
everything I wanted to before hopping in the car around 2 in the
afternoon and heading the six hundred and five miles west to Kansas City
to be bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6 am for the opening of the
Zambezi Zinger. In hindsight that wasn't the most relaxing
way to end my vacation but you only live once and offering me a brand
new coaster is like offering candy to a child.
Entering Kings Island at 9:30 AM for the parks season pass holder early
entry my plan was to power walk my way around the park getting as much
in as possible in the four and a half hours that I allotted before
needing to take my virtual truck driver experience, making the long haul
west.
The mysterious "Area 72" section of Kings Island was open for the
early entry so I sped my way there passing by this car that is obviously
owned by some tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist. The truth
may be out there but we'll have to see if it is in Area 72.
