After Diamondback it was time to hop on the Italian J
ob Stunt
Track....ooops, I mean the Backlot Stunt Coaster.

The Backlot Stunt Coaster was added to Kings Island when it was owned by
Paramount. They were big on tying in their intellectual properties
to the parks. In 2005 Paramount purchased three of these rides for
Kings Island, Kings Dominion, and Canada's Wonderland. They are
all wonderfully fun family coasters that have lost a little of their
original luster with some of the theming going away when Paramount sold
the parks to Cedar Fair and from lawsuits when Mini Cooper sued to have
the trains not look their cars. It is a fun ride with a great
launch and always a coaster to hit.

At this point after two and a half hours at Kings Island I had three
rides on Orion, 1 on Windseeker, 2 on The Beast, 2 on Mystic Timbers, 3
on Diamondback, and one on the Backlot Stunt Coaster it was time to head
over to the other side of the park which means heading under the Eiffel
Tower, across International Plaza, to get to the Action Zone.

The ride currently known as Drop Tower was another Paramount name change
as it was called Drop Zone which was an easily forgettable Wesley
Stripes movie. These huge Intamin drop rides are always fun to
ride. You don't have the uncertainty of when your car will drop
like in their earlier models like Superman: The Tower of Power at
Six Flags St. Louis but
as the car is larger the drop feels more immediate.

Moving
to the back of the Action Zone is a rare Arrow Dynamics
suspended coaster. The Bat is always a hike to get to but the
ride's wooded valley setting makes it all worth while.
