At the end of the day everyone wanted a nice picture in front of
Mystic Timbers really cool billboard. Here are Lori, John and
Draven down from the Chicago area to enjoy the new ride.
Another Chicagoan and the amazing photographer behind
Upstop Media is Scott
Schafer. Scott is another enthusiast I have known since he was in
high school and as talented as he is with a still or video camera it is
no surprise what he does.
At the end we had to get a photo of most of the Negative-G group as well
as Kings Island's own Public Relations guru Mr. Don Helbig. Don is
one of the few people whose passion for the industry is extremely
infectious. I think the only thing he gets more excited about than
amusement parks and coasters is hockey.
After ride after ride, laughs, screams, friends, a little food and a ton
of fun Mystic Timbers Media Day came to an end.
Bond and I after all the rides we had from the front to the back thought
that Kings Island had a huge hit with Mystic Timbers but then came
opening day when social media was lit up with talk about three to
four hour wait times so it seems that the public thinks so as well.
While I am not going to complain if any park; especially those close to
me (hint hint) want to build a super giant mega coaster, but all you
really need to get everyone excited and heading to the park is a quality
coaster. Kings Island certainly has one here.
Thank you to Kings Island, all of your staff and especially Don Helbig
for letting us join you for the opening of your latest ride. For
the rest of you I would highly suggest you start planning a trip to
Cincinnati with a lot of time scheduled into it for some serious time at
Kings Island for Mystic Timbers and the other fourteen coasters.
