So the question is what did I think of Twisted Timbers? It
was fun. I enjoyed the rides twenty moments of airtime, the
theming was fun and the loops were interesting but in the end it was
just ok. It is a good coaster but not at the top of my list of
rides to spend serious time on at Kings Dominion. We will be
getting to those later in this trip report.
Tucked in the woods of Kings Dominion's Old Virginia section and
literally hidden as the queue is hard to find sits the parks coaster The
Grizzly.
You have to hunt for the queue and the ride is way out in the woods so
much that guests could easily miss this ride.
Unfortunately with the ride that far out it was more than a little hard
to photograph it. The coaster is a recreation of the Wildcat that
was at Kings Island's predecessor Coney Island. Taft Broadcasting
built copies of that ride at Canada's Wonderland as the Wild Beast and
here at Kings Dominion. The ride is a double out and back that is
really fun. I just wish it was easier to find as I am not that
familiar with the park.
Part of the fun of Coaster Con as well as any ACE event is all of the
behind the scenes or exclusive events for us.
