...first you have to take a hyper-coaster like Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point or Mamba at Worlds of Fun and commpress the ride to about half size.

What you get is a coaster with steep drops, exceedingly tight turns, and ejector seat airtime.

Turning a hyper-coaster into a mini hyper is a great idea especially for parks without a hyper-coaster sized budget.

I'm also a big fan of Lightning Run's trains as it has a very "Speed Racer" look to it as it looks like Speed's "Mach 5" car was a big design inspiration.

Part of the reason it is not surprising that Lightning Run is as intense as and that the ride restraints have a big time Rocky Mountain Construction feel to it is because Ride Centerline; which is owned by designer Alan Schilke, did the design work for both Chance Rides who built this coaster and for Rocky Mountain Construction.
